Smart lock for built in lock

Hi all

Anyone know have a lock that would work in this door. It’s aluminium and the lock goes all the way up to the top and bottom of the door very secure.

But not sure if I can get a lock to replace simply the handles that would have enough strength to close these

The loch needs to handle to be pushed up into other to lock as well which is odd.

Thank you

I think this is what you’re looking for: SwitchBot Smart Lock | Make Your Existing Lock Smart | SwitchBot US

Given your configuration you would need to leave the key on the inside and mount it over that because it will twiddle the key (or locking knob)

Thank you very much didn’t even think of his type of solution

Bummer. Just realised I have to pull handle up then release then lock and repeat to unlock

I may need to look at a floor locks that tilt up from floor and stop it from opening. :frowning:

Why would a manufacturer do that? Seems like they just want to make the lock difficult to work with!

You might consider looking into if there is a different mortise lock you can get for the door that doesn’t require all the extra movement to lock and unlock.

It’s just some European thing. Not sure.

I ended up getting one. Klug k1. Will report back if it works. But either way I had to pull handle up to mutlti point lock. But it does have auto latch lock. Not as secure tho

Hi - did you end up finding a smart lock that works for this configuration? I have a Pella door that has an identical locking mechanism to this (with the vertical deadbolt) and I’m beating my head against the wall trying to find something. I HATE this existing door lock with the finicky “pull up to lock or unlock the deadbolt”

Yes ttlock slim worked great. They had to be adjusted tho. As in the latch shaved etc.

so to update here - these locks work but they just lock the latch. to lock fully the multipoint you have to push the lock up still.
