Smart planner based on a prediction

I would like add a feature in home-assistant to plan certain power uses based on a predicted value (like energy price or carbon intensity).
I have currently two use-cases:

  • running my electric boiler at the greenest time
  • charging my car every night at the right time

Though i was also considering automatically timing the dishwasher and washing machine.

The idea would be to have a generic interface that can have a configurable input variable, and then plans either a single start point (dishwasher and washing machine), or possibly multiple moments, like charging the car or the boiler.

This is also anticipating the change in the energy markets, where planned power (by the energy company) use might be lower priced. I worked in the netherlands, where they are considering rolling out a standard to allow energy users to request timeslots to use power.
It would be nice to anticipate on that as well, so the first (and ofc best) option to start using this is Home-Assistant.

I hope i made it clear what i mean and i put it in the right place. (First post)

Cheers
