Smart plug with dimming function

Hi everyone,
I am seeking advice over the purchase of a smart plug that I would use to dimm an existing interior lamp. The lamp itsel is a normal 230V one but the bulb is LED and it is advertised as “dimmable”.

What I am looking for is a smart plug that (ideally) would be:

  • connectable to Home assistant (of course :stuck_out_tongue: )
  • not dependant on an hub/cloud provider/app so preferably directly with wifi
  • homekit integration would be a big plus but not necessary as I could forward it through HA

Do you have some firsthand experience with a product as such?

PS: no, I cannot just replace the bulb with a smart one as it has been explicitly chosen by my girlfriend over a tuya-compatible one over the argument “I like the shade of the glass of the non sart one a little bit more”, so it’s hard to argue :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you!

I really doubt you will find smart socket with dimming. It’s because of generally sockets don’t dim.

IMO you have to try to retrofit some dimmer into the lamp

The lutron Plug-in Lamp Dimmer PD-3PCL should meet your requirements. Paired with a Lutron Smart Bridge PRO the integration with Home Assistant is excellent.

The requirement is for a 230V device. Lutron’s Caseta line is for the North American market (120V).
