I’m having an issue with Aqara Light Sensors maintaining a stable connection to my Zigbee network.
I found this page, which seems to suggest that Aqara sensors are incompatible with SmartThings outlets.
I use a bunch of the outletv4 SmartThings outlets, and I really love the power monitoring features they have. They update every few seconds, where all the others I have seen/tried will update much less frequently.
I’m looking for alternatives that would be compatible with my Aqara sensors without losing the fine grained power usage data.
Alternatively, if you know of good, small, battery powered, illuminance sensors that play nicely with SmartThings outlets, I would appreciate the recommendation.
Or, if you have other options I have not thought of… I am all ears!
Thanks!
I have a mostly Zigbee household now, except for five Z-Wave smart plugs – these Fibaro wall plugs. I kept them for percisely that reason – fast, timely energy monitoring. (I have automations, for example, that kick off when the washing machine or dryer finish, which I do by waiting for the power to fall below a threshold.)
I’m in London and use the U.K. variant, but I’m sure the U.S. are good too. They’ve been trouble-free for years now.
I like the Third Reality a little better, they have more options, but they are a relatively new addition (a few months).
I use z2m, reporting frequency and threshold are configurable for both. Minimum interval defaults at 5sec, which has been fine for me. I haven’t tested what the lower limit really is.
