Smart Shower

Hello everyone. I have been playing around with home assistant for a while. One of the first projects that I wanted to tackle was a smart shower. I could not find anything useful so I had to come up with my own design. Its basic but it works.

The parts:
Electrical junction box to hold all the parts
Sonoff basic
24vac transformer ( i do air condition/electrical work so i used an ac transformer)
Contactor( not needed I just had one laying around)
Irrigation valve
wyze reed switch
I put a recessed light above my shower at the same time. If you have not done this you should, its amazing.
misc plumbing fittings

Basically the sonoff switches the transformer to have the irrigation open up.
I cut the irrigation valve on the line going to the shower head. The regular shower valve stays the same so you can adjust the temperature. Just leave in it at the temperature you like it at.
The reed switch attaches to my door so when it is opened the shower and light cuts off.

One draw back is if wifi or power goes down there is no shower. So if you do this project I would add a manual bypass so you can have water.

I wasn’t able to find a good way to have it automatically adjust the temperature of the water. probably because I am not a programmer and I fumble my way through all this stuff.

Here are some pictures. I hope this helps with your projects. Now I’m on to figuring out to get alexa to open my bedroom door on command but still allowing manual control.
