Smart Switch without Ground/Earth - Can i bypass it?

Hi,
I like the aubees switch and any other simple wifi/zigbee switch for their versatility and simplicity.
Although it works for many of my lights, I thought of adding it to other utilities for (i) remote switching but also (ii) energy metering.

But as we check how to set it up like, for example seen here: https://smarthomescene.com/reviews/cheapest-wifi-switch-to-buy-for-your-smart-home/

I’m a bit confused. As we have here in Europe normally (1) Live (2) Neutral and (3) Ground/Earth-wire.

Can I bypass the ground to whatever appliance I have? I mean in general it’s not as special as a mechanical switch, or am I completely wrong?
Like something like that (the lamp stands for any electrice device with a L-N-G input)

Is this a device that is behind the wall or inline from an outlet?

That is how it should be done. On non-smart switches, the ground is not switched too.

I think all the ground wires should be joined together using, say, wago connectors. So not using the smart relay. You should also connect any metal casing that contains the smart relay.
