Smart Switches / modules that fit regular switches for blinds+lights

Hey guys, I moved into a new flat in Germany where I finally got electric blinds.

So my first question is: are there any Switches that fit into regular switch Sockets or are there proper modules, that can go behind the existing switch (have to be really small, not much room)

Furthermore, we have got plenty of switches, many of them being 2 way with 2 switches for the same lamp in different places. Most of the time there are 2-4 switches beneath each other. So they do have to fit into the standard frame.
Are there also any smart switches that fit in regular sockets and/or modules to smart-up the existing ones?
Unfortunately my girlfriend wants to keep traditional switches to turn on lights, so i cant simply use mobile switches/smartphone etc.

Tysm!

Welcome!

If you’re just starting out, I would recommend having a look at Shelly products. They work with HA right out of the box, but can be easily customised with ESPHome once you get more familiar with HA.

The 1 mini is exceptionally tiny and should definitely fit behind your switches for controlling a single light (there’s wiring diagrams on their site for 2-way wiring, so that concern is sorted too).

For blinds control, the 2PM can be configured with an interlock so that you can control your blinds without shorting them out. It’s slightly bigger than the mini, but it’s 16mm deep (same as the mini) and should still fit if your backbox is deep enough.

Thank you so much!

Is there any reason to use shelly though when I already have Z2M set up?
Are there suitable alternatives for Zigbee as well?

Lol no, there’s no reason at all apart from the size of the mini. You didn’t mention you had Z2M already set up in your previous post, so I pointed you to a more beginner friendly setup.

The Z2M device page lists loads of ZigBee modules which have the same form factor as the Shelly 2pm.

Aqara have also just launched the H2EU smart switches which looks like they’d be an exact replacement for your existing switches, if you manage to convince your girlfriend

Thats a good one! Only for lights though… cant be used for the electric blinds  at least I cant find one

I’d suggest that, if you like this woman a lot, you talk to her to see if she is going to accept any home automation.

Shelly mini gen4 are finally available. Have a look.
