I’m finalizing my hardware setup and am now looking at smart switches.
My idea is to remove most of the standard switches and have smart switches instead.
Most of them will be placed at other places so I’m thinking about putting some electrical box cover instead of most standard switches.
I have bought an Aqara H1 double rocker and am happy with it (+ the 5 years advertised battery life) but it only exists in 2-buttons.
I have also identified MOES switches which have the following benefits:
Can anyone provide feedback about the battery life issues of the MOES?
Are there any other wireless switches that look like standard wall switches to recommend?
This is very dependent on where you live. US, UK, EU, China, AU/NZ, America, they all have different standards, plug shapes, wall boxes. No one can help without knowing where you live. (The fact that you point to the French translated Aliexpress may be a clue).
If you mean by “autonomy” battery life, then I cannot give you any input. I have the wired versions (with optional neutral) and they work fine. Only thing that bothers me (when using z2m) that they do not work as routers but end devices and if you want to link multiple switches you need automations in HA (no linkage on the device).
@nickrout you got it right - France indeed - am mainly interested by the wireless switches but also looking at no-neutral-wired switches IF same design also exists as wireless
@ciB yes battery life is what I meant - not being ZigBee routers should be ok-ish in my setup - automation in HA to link multiple switches is also ok if I understand what you mean by no linkage on the device: what is the impact for you?
Still looking at feedback for the wireless MOES if anyone used them.
Well, on the product page is says you can link the devices together to act as multiple switches for the same device, but that functionality is not directly on the device but needs to be done via automations - the problem here is though that trying to create such an automation creates a feedback loop making it a little bit iffy.
I have had the aqara wireless switches and they worked flawlessly.
Thank you @Nick4 for the recommendation - 2 years battery life, quite small buttons and no wired option are the drawbacks that I see but they are definitively worth trying!
If you already have a ZigBee gateway, my understanding is that you will be able to pair them through the Tuya application or Local Tuya. You don’t need a specific Tuya gateway.
