I’ve had smartthings working for a while, and I held off on the past few updates due to the issues people have been seeing; I stayed on the December update from 2024. I personally had no issues until this update (2025.5). I updated as an integration I needed wanted a newer version, but smartthings seemed to have stopped working.
The devices went gray, and I tried deleting/readding the integration. Now when I click the link that homeassistant gives, I sign into my samsung account, but I get this error message:
To be completely honest, I’m not sure what troubleshooting I can do besides restarting HA (which I tried multiple times). It looks like a samsung issue? It also seems like home assistant is doing something with Nabu Casa, since after clicking close on that page I get this:
I can’t remember when Samsung cloud required a change to the way that authentication works. A new API and hence integration had to be created to make it work properly. I wonder if this is what you’re seeing?
Best guess? Delete the entire integration. Add it again. And clean up the mass of any changed entity names.
My installation has been working fine and indeed has been improved with additional types of entities being added in the last few point releases.
Yeah, that is what I did. I deleted the integration and its entities and restarted HA. When I try setting up SmartThings after that, it gives me the error I posted.
I think I fixed it, seems like it was a Samsung account error? I tried linking with someone else in my samsung family and it worked perfectly fine. Thanks for everyone’s help!
