SMLIGHT Integration question

I just added an smlight zigbee bridge to my network. HA immediately detected it through mdns and gave me an option to add it via ZHA and autodetected the dedicated SMLIGHT integration for management. I wont be using zha and am going to redo my zb2mqtt network…i digress…the question is about the device integration, not zigbee.

I’m on the latest version of home assistant - i have nothing previous to compare to…so maybe i’m confused or not understanding the way things are…

Every other device/integration - when i add it to an area, the device then shows up in that area when i go to it. The device added in the smlight integration doesnt show up in any area when i define it. If left undefined, there is nothing listed in the overview page of devices…

If i go to settings>devices/services I can see the device from the smlight integration and all of its entities.

Is there some sorta bug with the integration and this newest HA? or am i doing something wrong? Or is it not meant to show under devices or in an assigned room?

Nah, the auto-generated area dashboard only shows specific device types. It’s not a bug & you’re not doing anything wrong.

You can still create your own dashboard & have full control over what shows & what doesn’t.

Had a dongle-m hooked up before it enraged me …adding mqtt server info to it created a device with entities very similar to what this integration does… but it automatically showed up as a device in the main overview of devices. Didnt know what to expect here lol
