I received my SLZB-06 (vanilla p version) five days ago, zero issues with POE. Ordered from the referred AliExpress store on their website. Using a cheap POE injector rated at AF. I’m running the full HAOS so can’t really answer the C state. Not familiar with Docker but is that a CPU state? Also, you said it was.an Intel. USB issue, it connects via TCP on Z2M for serial port (TCP://19x.x). I may be way off here, just throwing that out there because you mentioned USB.
I can say it’s never been easier to update a ZigBee radio firmware. It came with an old version. It listed every release so if you didn’t want to go to the latest you could go to previous then current. Just a nice touch. That and the software updates, super easy to setup.
thx a lot!
I also ordered from the first official AliExpress link, so i should be good to go.
Yeah, to work around the intel USB issue (whcih i can 100% reproduce) the SLZB-06 will solve my issue i think.
Up until now i never searched such a device (SLZB-06) because i had HAOS + Z2M + other addons running on an seperate Dell Wyse intel machine and the low power cpu does’nt draw much power at all. Currently i am migrating every HA addon (which basically are dockers) to my unraid dockers.
Yeah, there the issue popped up because unaid is running on an i3-12100T which suffers from the lined intel issue. That’s why i have searched for an solution which is TCP/IP based and i can migrate to freom my sonoff P stick → SLZB-06 is perfect replacement.
ALso saw it has a nice web interface to upgrade the esp32 itself and also the zigbee firmware which is really nice!
I can verify that in HA when going to settings>system>hardware>show all it doesn’t show up as a ttyUSB device like every other coordinator I have owned (both USB) so it’s not creating some “virtual” device, it’s communicating 100 percent over LAN so this should solve that issue (keyword being should).
I’m running ZHA and Z2M in parallel so I can slowly migrate devices as migrating from ZHA to Z2M is possible but a lot of manual steps. My skyconnect shows up but nothing for the SLZB-06
@brendan and others, so I did give it a go and made my own 100mbps cable. Tested it with my laptop and sure enough I got a 100mbs link. Basically lines 1,2,3 and 6 are needed, the others can be dropped.
I tested it with all the dongles and still wasnt working, so I dont think it has anything to do with the link speed but more with the LAN chip or the socket?
The new replacement I got is working fine though for months now, I am hoping the QC is better on these as they are getting quite good reviews so I can make that assumption.
Hello everyone,
I’d like to additionally confirm I’ve been having recent issues with mine. When I initially recieved mine, I wired it with my PoE injector hooked into a dumb switch and it worked flawlessly for a few months. After a recent power outage, the dongle became unresponsive and the link lights were down, despite it having power. Reseating the cables would return the link lights, but it would remain unresponsive without any IP.
After A LOT of troubleshooting, I’ve come to discover that there seems to be an issue with the way the stick is handling DHCP requests:
Connecting to it through its built in wifi AP yields me no real tinkering options, but I was able to connect it successfully to my wifi AP where I was able to pull the latest firmware for both the device and the zigbee controller.
Is there any hope in me continuing my troubleshooting, or should I contact them through Aliexpress (where I initially bought mine) and request a refund?
