I’ve been looking for new smoke detectors for quite some time now and have not found exactly what I’m looking for (possibly because it’s not listed on the products). The closest I’ve found is the NEST ones but want hoping somebody here might be able to mention something they have found.
What I’m looking for
Absolute Must
- Battery powered (old house)
- Some sort of wireless interconnection between them that does not depend on any of my networks (Ex. Wireless access point catches fire, they still talk to each other to sound the alarm)
- UL certified
- A way to know what interconnected one is going off.
- Photoelectric (vs ionizing)
Would be nice to have HA Integration, probably wi-fi but I might be able to connect them thru Z-Wave or ZigBee but see #2 above.
Things the HA integration could add (all would be nice not required)
- Temperature
- Light
- History
- Silence Control
- Battery Status
A hardwired alternative that is compatible would be nice (there is maybe 1 or 2 I could run a wire to but most will have to be battery unless I can do a massive renovation someday)
