Zigbee ones usually can be integrated. I have a few of them running in z2m.
Thanks. What brand/type do you have?
Chinese like usual. I’m currently using this one.
There are far more expensive products like aquara ones.
I have this ones https://is.gd/3NfJEY from Ali
I’m in the US I’m using the first alert brand ones. They’re z-wave battery powered and cover both smoke and carbon monoxide First Alert Battery Powered Z-Wave Smoke Detector & Carbon Monoxide Alarm, Works with Ring Alarm Base Station, 2nd Generation - Amazon.com.
Whatever you choose, make sure they comply with local fire regulations. They may invalidate house insurance.
I always recommend checking your local regulations before deciding on new smoke detectors. When I looked into it, I learned my jurisdiction requires interconnected alarms with 10-year battery backup, which excludes any “smart” model on the market (despite their network capabilities, none are considered “interconnected” because one alarm cannot trigger the others). Instead I used the First Alert interconnection relay, which triggers a separate (z-wave, in my case) sensor when any alarm goes off. I don’t have to worry about battery chirps because the batteries last the life of the alarms.
My condo building also has a separate fire alarm system — which I cannot modify — so I use an Ecolink Firefighter sensor which “hears” that alarm to alert me if it triggers.
A final warning to be wary of very cheap alarms on AliExpress… for critical lifesaving devices I would be wary of trusting my family’s safety to a device with dubious (if any) claims of regulatory approvals.
