Smoke Detectors and Nest Protect Going Away

I did a lot of searching from here and reddit and 90% were 2-3 years old or Europe and with Nest Protect sunsetting, I am looking for a solid choice and nice to haves.

We loved that the Nests were wired and that they spoke and I have to admit, we got use to the path lighting they did when we walked down a hallway, but I am having a hard time finding something with equivalent options and that works with HomeAssistant, which I am new on.

I was reading on the Owl Home Smoke Detector and it is considered completely IFTTT. Says it works with Apple Home and Google, but not much else. They are expensive but several of my Nest Protects expire in 6 months.

I would greatly prefer wired and pathway, can give up speaking as not that big a deal, but if I have to, pathway can go too as I have Zings in hallways I can use.

Any recommendations with similar features or do I just need to settle with the another one?

I’m gonna be honest and it’s looking that in the long term getting a zwave stick and installing this at every smoke alarm system you have will be the better long term solution:

Will this work if the power fails and the alarm goes to battery backup? This is a requirement in the UK.

One of the videos listed with it shows a test where they put in a dead battery as a test and it still working without false alarms, you will need to ask them if they can run a test with a power cut and see if it still works as it should:

I just remembered about these which can be installed along side your certified ones in your home to have the best of both:

and then there was this option for those that support it:
