Any help to get started appreciated.
I have an alarm panel that you interface with via SMS. I wish to show the state of the panel as a bubble in HA. The panel responds to status requests and confirms via text when you arm/dis-arm it.
I have a couple of IFTTT rules on my phone, one that says periodically send a status request to the alarm then another that sees the text from the panel and generates an email. Is there a way i can configure a sensor in HA and generate some message to it to set the state?
Longer term i would like to control the sensor via Amazon Alexa except in the reverse (say a command to generate a text off my phone to arm the alarm).
I run a linux box and have recently setup HA. Thanks in advance for any help
