SMTP notification - do not understand

hi there,
my first exposure to get an external setup via SMTP done … configured notify service as described in the documentation and now wondering how to select my specific notifier by name in the devolper-tools Test service section:

  • is it correct to refer to my notify.name (“hamburg_mail” in this case) from configuration.yaml as “target” in the notifiy service ?
  • if I do it here I get a “key Error” in the log

In the service field, select or type notify.hamburg_mail. If it isn’t presented as an option, you likely need to restart HA or reload Notify services.

suspected that … but (even after full HA restart) this is neither shown in services list nor accepted when I type notify.hamburg_mail

any further hints ?

ok
got it … it was a SMTP server authentication issue … it could not log in … therefore no binding happens … now it works with correct credentials

Hello! Do you remember how do you fix that issue? I think that I’m stock so the same thing and I don’t know how to solve it.
