SMZ16-PRE with Russound RIO only shows 1 zone in Home Assistant

Title: Russound RIO on SMZ16-PRE only discovers 1 zone

I’m using a Russound SMZ16-PRE with the Russound RIO integration in Home Assistant.

Issue
Home Assistant only discovers:

  • SMZ16-PRE
  • Kitchen/Sunroom

It does not discover the other enabled zones as separate media player devices.

What Russound shows
The Russound app shows multiple active zones correctly, including:

  • Kitchen
  • Family Room
  • Office
  • Living Room
  • Dining Room
  • Garage
  • and others

So the controller clearly has multiple working zones.

What I already tried

  • Confirmed latest firmware
  • Removed and re-added the Russound RIO integration
  • Added it manually using 192.168.86.58:9621
  • Checked HA Devices and Entities
  • Compared Kitchen and Office zone settings
  • Tried changing Master Zone Mode on Office as a test, with no change

Question
Has anyone seen Russound RIO on an SMZ16-PRE discover only 1 zone even though the Russound app shows many enabled zones?

I’m trying to figure out whether this is:

  • a Home Assistant Russound RIO bug
  • a Russound RIO API quirk
  • or some controller configuration issue affecting which zones are exposed
