Snips Alternatives?

Hi all,

This is not exactly a feature request, but I put it here as I know there is also Almond…

So after what the bastards at Sonos did, destroying the work of months for dozens of people here and somewhere else, I want now try to fidn an alternative to Snips.

I just would like to collect and hear if people have some experience with one of the tools.

So first there is Home Assistant Almond. Sadly I can’t learn much about it here https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/almond/

Can it understand german? Is it possible to put tiny clients (i.e. on a Pi) in each room? I read somewhere that it is no voice recognition but it seems that I could talk to it? Is there a place where I can find detailed information how it integrates with HA?

mycroft.ai: Installed this ones and it wasn’t able to speak german. Quick Google search seems to show me that it is today. Any experiences? Could it be integrated with HA
?

Than I stumbled about Sepia today. Any experiences? Is it compatible with HA?

Sorry if there are any threads on this already, I was unable to find them! If so, I would be happy if you link them

Lol okay there is a Voice Assistant Category. Totally missed that

Have a look at Rhasspy which just released version 2.5 and does support German and can integrate with Home Assistant out of the box.

Thanks, will check it out!

Installing was done in no time and already switched the first lights in HA through a Node-Red flow getting its intents from a separate rhasspy Pi4. Great! No problems during setup and very easy configuration through the web interface. Love it!
