SNZB-06P How do you add it?

I’m struggling to understand how to connect this sensor to homeassistant. I have zigbee2mqtt with a SONOFF Universal Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle as the coordinator.

Pressing and holding the pair button does result in the light flashing red but it is not interviewed by Z2M

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you setting up multiple Z2M networks or do you want to use it as a router to extend your existing Z2M network. It’s not something you add to Z2M. It’s setup in the add on. Just like you originally set it up your Sonoff USB Zigbee coordinator.

Get it on the network, find the IP then go to it in a.browsed and update the firmware would be my first step. If spits out the Z2M configuration for you. If you don’t have Poe then you can power it via USB and plug an Ethernet cable into it

I’m not sure you can add the SNZB-06P to a wireless network can you?

I want to get the thing connected to homeassistant. From what I understood it’s a zigbee device

In Z2M, press Enable connection(all) on the top bar and put the SNZB-06P sensor into pairing mode.

You will need to pres permit join all.
Then pair the sensor

I have Permit Join set already but it’s not pairing. Are you speaking from experience of using this particular sensor or just basing it on standard process for joining zigbee devices?

Wait. Hold on a minute.

The SNZB is a zigbee coordinator. You already have a zigbee coordinator, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to load Z2MQTT.

You can only have ONE coordinator per zigbee network, which means that you can’t just try to add it as a normal zigbee device using “Permit Join”.

Can you explain more clearly what it is you are trying to accomplish with the SNZB-06P?

The SNZB-06P is an occupancy sensor, I’m simply trying to add it to my zigbee network. Not sure what else I can say to explain it

OK so simple solution was to move it closer to the coordinator :man_facepalming:

Thanks for the replies all

Crap, I’m sorry! Had it confused with the SLZB-06 coordinator.

“Bloody manufacturers can’t come up with a proper model name” is the excuse I’m going with.

Me too. I completely misread that and never even once notice the name difference. Probably due to a lot of SLZB-06 threads or questions and I thought “p” just meant the Zigbee chip type. So obviously disregard my previous post as I was way off on what was trying to be accomplished with what device.
