Soil moisture sensor running out of battery fast

I bought 3 tuya aaa battery zigbee moisture sensors ts0601_soil_3 and I am using them with newly charged Ikea batteries.
First even with freshly charged batteries they show between 15 and 13% battery and when they get to 8% after some time they die. But Ive noticed Ive had to charge the batteries every 20 or so days.
Is there a way to reduce the power consumption on these things? I dont really want to have to recharge 3 pairs of batteries every month.

Thanks

Take a look here

Rechargeable batteries have a much lower voltage (1.2v as opposed to 1.5v for non-rechargeable batteries).

That might not sound like much, but it’s a 20% difference in the battery capacity, and works out to be more than that when you consider batteries are considered flat at around 0.9v (8% of 1.2v).

I suggest you try putting regular batteries in at least one of your moisture sensors and monitor its lifetime.

Will give it a try with nonrechargable batteries, but I dont I will usethem anymore if I cant use recharables, the price of batteries is quite high to have to change 6 of them 4 times a year or more

I don’t own any of those Tuya soil sensors, so can’t comment on how long the batteries will last.

All I can say is that all my zigbee door, motion & temperature sensors have used the same coin cell battery for the past 2+ years.
