Hi,
I am thinking about getting solar panels with battery storage installed in my house.
Do you guys have any recommendations as to which inverters and battery charge controllers work best with HA?
All the UK based guys (and galls) can you recommend any specific brand/make/model (or which ones to avoid).
Thanks
Not UK based, but I’m happy with my Fronius inverter Gen24. It’s a hybrid inverter (works with battery storage) and thanks to @farmio we have a really good, local integration in HA
Stumbled over this recently: HTW Stromspeicher-Inspektion 2022: Testsieger kommen erneut von RCT Power und Fronius – pv magazine Deutschland
Its german, but I’m sure it can be decently translated.
Here in Austria Fronius (for gable/pult roofs / uniform alignment) and SolarEdge (for flat roofs / mixed alignment) are quite popular for inverters.
If you proceed with the project, please keep us posted on the progress. Are you doing the installation DIY, or using a solar installer?
Did you really want to ask me? Or rather @alfwro13 ?
My installation is running since almost a year now and was done by a solar installer.
The Tesla Powerwall integration works well, gets the data locally (not via the cloud) every 5 seconds. I have a SolarEdge inverter which also has an integration for HA, but I don’t use it, because I can get all the data needed from the PowerWall.
Its fun building a power dashboard… (the built in enegry dashboard is not to my taste…)
