The HA Integrations list includes a SolarEdge Local for use with inverters that DO have a functioning local API on them. The intro text explains that only models that have a local API web page will work.
Mine has the API available at the inverters local IP address (I can see all the commissioning info and status etc), and it’s model number ends in a ‘4’, yet I don’t seem to get any new sensors for it in entities after setting the platform & IP and a reboot…
Is the platform for SolarEdge local broken, or do I have to list some sensors to be monitored in the configuration.yaml ?
Anyone here using the local API method currently ?
Doh !
24 hours after the inverter was installed the local API is gone !
It still responds to a ping fine, so may have been a firmware update overnight, and it’s now removed.
(and this one was listed as being still supported in the Integration spiel).
I have been having lots of interruptions (error 500) on my API calls today, did You find a solution on if it is possible to get the local API working again?
No, the local API was there for about 24 hours then gone and has not been available since (tried regularly for a few days).
I assumed there was an overnight firmware update that killed it. (anybody know if the inverter does automatic FW updates)
I now use ethernet SolareEdge Modbus TCP HACS integration via a TP-Link TL-WR703N.
I might add, that for whatever reasons, my phone app and HA SolarEdge cloud integration had a lot of drop outs yesterday and today. I’m not sure if that is the SE server end or a connection locally. Either way Modbus TCP over Wifi is solid…
My cloud data chart for the last day or so (my local MODBUS TCP connection has been solid during this time).
