Solariance: PV forecast sensors + a "best time to run it on solar" action (HACS)

Hi all,

I’m Mik from Solariance, a PV forecast service from Germany. We’ve released a custom integration that brings our forecasts into Home Assistant, and I’d really like feedback, especially from people already using Forecast.Solar or Solcast.

Repo: github.com/solariance/ha-solariance (latest release v0.1.1, MIT)
Setup guide: solariance.de/integrations/home-assistant, from sign-up to the first automation, including a setup without HACS

What you get

  • Sensors for today, remaining today, tomorrow, this/next hour, power now, peak power and peak time, production start/end. Names follow the core Forecast.Solar integration, so existing dashboards port over with a rename.
  • Solar production forecast on the Energy dashboard
  • solariance.find_surplus_window: give it a device’s load and run time, it returns the window where solar covers it best (optionally with a saving estimate). Handy for dishwashers, washing machines, EV top-ups.
  • solariance.get_forecast: hourly or quarter-hourly forecast as response data

Where it works
Solariance is currently focused on the DACH region. The forecasts are built on the ICON weather models of the German Weather Service (DWD):

  • Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, plus Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark and the Czech Republic: high-resolution forecast (2.1 km grid, 15-minute steps for the next 48 hours)
  • Other European countries (the rest of the EU, the UK, Norway, Iceland, the Western Balkans, Turkey): standard forecast (7 km grid, hourly steps)
  • Not covered: locations outside Europe, the Canary Islands, the Azores and the far north of Norway

The Solariance app and website are available in German and English.

Requirements

  • Home Assistant 2026.9+
  • A Solariance account with a PV system in one of the countries above. The free plan works (today + tomorrow); paid plans add days 3 to 5
  • A read-only API token: solariance.de/user → API tokens

Install
Open the repository in HACS, or HACS → ⋮ → Custom repositories → https://github.com/solariance/ha-solariance, type Integration. Install Solariance, restart, then Settings → Devices & services → Add integration → Solariance and paste the token.

Good to know

  • Cloud polling, talks only to our API. At the default 30-minute interval it uses 2 requests/hour per system; the “now” values are recomputed locally every quarter hour without extra calls.
  • Full disclosure: I work for Solariance and the service has paid plans. The integration itself is MIT-licensed.

This is an early release (v0.1.1), so bug reports and ideas are very welcome: reply here, open a GitHub issue, or write to [email protected].
