Solark fustrations

Im trying to connect my solark solar inverter, i have tried

which i believe is geared to the original inverters more and is supposed to connect via ip from the solark data logger.

ive also tried GitHub - pbix/HA-solark-PV: Home Assistant integration for the SolArk PV Inverter
i conected the solark to a waveshare rs485 to eth box (found out afterwards it will not support mod bus but other posts suggest this still works.

when i tried to test via modpoll i get polling slave, request timed out.

Do i need a different converter for my modbus?

If you’re happy just reading data from the server and not from your inverter (the latency is a little high, but it’s good enough for most real automation uses), check out my working API code (this uses PHP):
