Solarman + Deye SG04LP3 inverter

I recently installed solar and connected the Deye inverter to HA using the Solarman Integration and got appx 55 entities. I then added the Inverter to the Energy dashboard and it seems like it’s working fine. I am still a novice about solar systems so I still have a few questions:

  • I want to create a simple automation to inform me when the grid goes down. Also, we have 3-phase power here and sometimes the grid doesn’t cut completely off, but just down to a single phase. Which sensors would I need to monitor for either of these situations?

  • I am connecting the inverter via its built-in WiFi. I saw some people here are using a RS485->USB interface. Is there any advantages to using this vs WiFi?

  • Are there any recommended dashboards or alternate integrations I should check out?

Hi @ironicusername,

I’d like to suggest you to try GitHub - davidrapan/ha-solarman: ⚡ Solarman Stick Logger integration for 🏠 Home Assistant. It’s an improvement in every aspect of the one you are currently using and also for example contains dedicated sensor for Power Outage, tracks consumption of the inverter and ac/dc losses, etc.

Have fun!
