Hi,
I just encountered an issue on letsencrypt certificate expiry on Sep 30th, which resulted in
my old ios9 devices fail to access homeassistant server.
After some investigation, the steps I got it working again was:
- From a ios9 safari browser, goto https://letsencrypt.org/certificates/
and you may probably get an dialog that the server is not verified because you already
don’t have the correct certificate to access. So click on details and trust the site. - Then download ISRG Root X1 certificate (.der) from there, which will launch Settings app on your device. Or click on https://letsencrypt.org/certs/isrgrootx1.der
- Just proceed on installing the profile
- After the certificate installed, I cleaned up safari cache and history and rebooted the device.
- Able to access homeassistant server again.
ios over 10 do not get affected because they have ISRG Root X1 certificate in its OS.
