Solved - After I couldn’t get anything to show up on the web interface and not on my router, I decided to add a mouse, keyboard and monitor to the Raspberry PI and I installed the complete Raspberry IOs, everything went perfect and it installed completely.
I then decided to insert the HA card in the slot and restarted the Raspberry, I don’t know why or how but since i have the monitor hooked up i was able to see that it made it all the way to a section where it asked for a login name and password, at least i made it there, it know for whatever reason it showed up on my router, I am still lost as to how i got there, since i did not do anything different other than hooking up the monitor, the mouse and the keyboard.
After I saw it on my router i went to the webportal and i was able to complete the installation.
Again I don’t know what i did different but it’s working as of now.
Hopefully this might help someone if they end up in the same position I was in.
Very, very new to Home Assistant, thanks to anyone who can help.
I have read trough a few installation guides and followed along the one on HA website and watched what I feels is thousands of You Tube installation videos but I can’t understand what is happening, installation it’s as easy as making pie and so I thought.
First bought a Canakit from Amazon 4gig version very easy to assemble. Downloaded the image as explained on the instructions downloaded the belenaEtcher, flashed the 32bit image to the 32gig that comes with the kit, inserted the card into the slot turn on the Raspberry and waited and waited to see if anything would happen, nothing for about 1 hour (being patient and a noob), tried a different card , nothing, I didn’t see the Raspberry PI come up on my router, so i tried different cables, ports, nothing.
Soooo i tried something different.
Thinking i had a bad Raspberry PI and maybe the network port was bad since it was not being seen by my router i went and downloaded the Raspberry PI Imager from raspberrypi.org, flashed the first image of the Raspberry Pi OS, once done I inserted the same card that did not work with the image of Home Assistant and within a few minutes i saw the Raspberry come up on my router with an ip address which did not happening with the HA image.
I went back, re-read all instructions again on how to do install HA, re-imaged both cards with the HA image and once again the Raspberry PI does not come up on my router as it did with the Raspberry IOs .
Wow how can it work with the image of the Raspberry Pi OS but not with the image of Home Assistant?
I have waited now a couple of hours to see if anything turns up before posting, I am at a complete lost as two why?
I know is not hardware base, so it must be something i am doing wrong but what?
If you guys need more details please let me know and again thanks for any help you can provide.
