[SOLVED] Homeassistant.local:8123 not working in mac Chrome

Hi there,

I’m on a Mac and visiting http://homeassistant.local:8123 is working fine in Safari but doesn’t work in Chrome. I have also tried http://:8123 and again this works in Safari but not in Chrome.

This is annoying as Chrome is my primary browser, I’m just trying to work out where the limitation is - is it with Chrome or is it with something else like DNS?

Just try http://<ip address of your HA device>:8123

Figured this out.

System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.

Chrome was toggled off, toggled it on and working

Thank you!!! Spent so long trying to figure out why my installation wasn’t working. Saw another thread where someone said it worked in Chrome but not Safari.

Thank you, but I found something Odd. I had about 20 copies of Google Chrome in the list. All were toggled on, but Google Chrome Helper was not. I toggled off and on one of the Google Chrome entries, and they all toggled in sync. I then toggled on the Google Chrome Helper on, and my problem was solved.
