[Solved] Multiple unknown zwave devices show up in HA with HUSBZB-1

Hello
I have a HUSBZB-1 stick with Home Assistant running on ubuntu install on a pc.
The Zigbee component works fine with the zigbee bulbs I have.
I thought I will setup the zwave component as well.

Installed as per directions here

sudo apt-get install libudev-dev
As soon as I added zwave information in the configuration.yaml
zwave:
usb_path: /dev/ttyUSB0

and restarted the pc, I see a lot of switches, locks and lights appear in the panel.

I do not have any zwave components yet. Can someone please guide how to reset and prevent this from happening again?
Thanks

Did you receive the zwave stick used?

I believe that you can remove from the z-wave control panel:

Then select each and remove failed node:

That looks like a second hand (or “pre-owned”) stick.

Follow the manual to perform a factory reset on it, and that’ll clear it up. It will also reset the Zigbee configuration though.

Thanks for the replies.
I bought it new, can’t be sure if they sold me a used one.
I downloaded the manual http://www.gocontrol.com/manuals/HUSBZB-1-Operation.pdf
And cannot find any reset instructions.
I don’t mind the reset as I don’t have that many Zigbee devices.
I tried the remove node, but don’t think it made a difference.

They did - else you wouldn’t have all those nodes.

I’d send it back and insist on a new one.

Bought from a seller in US and am in Canada.
It would cost me a lot trying to return and wouldn’t be worth the hassle. Hopefully, it works without an issue once I am able to reset it.

I tried removing devices using failed node option in HA as well as OZWCP but was unable to remove them. Then, I did a bit of searching around and came across this post which helped.

Got Zensys Tools, installed the windows drivers for HUSBZB-1, and opened the program.
I tried removing nodes as suggested but Zensys Tools failed as well.
Finally, I saw the option to reset the Zwave controller and used that and it worked.

Zigbee controller is working fine, but do not have any Zwave devices to test.
I wanted to share my experience, so it may help someone in a similar situation in the future.
