[SOLVED] Unable to log into HassIO using local IP address

previously I was able to log into my HassIO RPi when connected to my home network by simply using its local IP address, or using my duckdns address. Just the other day it stopped allowing me to use the local IP address. any ideas why that would be?

I just get this if I use the local RPi IP address:

you need the port when you connect to local ip

https://192.168.0.13:8123 or
http://192.168.0.13:8123

I have been having this issue every since I told it to upgrade to 0.63.3. And I have been using the port when trying to access it.

I’m new to all this and haven’t really done much customization at this point so if I just started over I wouldn’t lose much. But I have no idea how to even start debugging the issue since I can’t connect.

I hooked up a monitor, keyboard, and mouse and I all I see on the monitor is the Home Assistant Icon.

What method can I use to look for what the trouble might be? I don’t have SSH set up. Was planning to but honestly not sure how to get the key.

Thanks,
Dave

but you say you can reach it with your duckdns address.

monitor, mouse and keyboard wont bring you much with hassio.
hassio is created for installing, configuring and manipulating your raspberry over a network only.

if you also cant reach it by your duckdns address, i guess there is little that can be done, but there might be others that can tell you more about that.
you can also search the forum, i have seen multiple topics from people who where unable to reach their raspberry after an update.

Thanks Rene. I had cleared my browser out so lost the history where I was obviously using the port etc previously. All good now. I’ll be sure to remember for the future… and I’ve now bookmarked it
