[Solved] Xiaomi Smart Sockets show in Mi app but not discovered by Home Assistant

I currently have 26 various Xiaomi Mi devices connected through the Xiaomi Gateway including a Smart Socket (current sensing version).

I bought 3 new smart sockets (non current sensing version). I have successfully added them to the Mi App but they don’t appear in Home Assistant.

I have done

  1. Restart the Aqara Hub
  2. Restart Home Assistant.
  3. Several attempts over multiple days searching for thread that might help.

Oh see now. There is WiFi version and Zigbee versions of the smart sockets the wifi version does NOT support power consumption. It is also not listed under the supported devices on the home assistant xiaomi intergration page on the zigbee version. https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/xiaomi_aqara

There is an article on gearbest about the differences here https://www.gearbest.com/blog/new-gear/xiaomi-smart-plug-wifi-version-vs-zigbee-version-what-are-the-difference-6924
