[Solved] Z2M - Migration question (Conbee II to Sonoff ZBDongle-P)

I am planning to change my Zigbee adapter. Currently it is a Conbee II and I would go for a Sonoff ZBDongle-P (CC2652P).

The procedure within Zigbee2MQTT itself seems to be clear, according to:
https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/faq/#how-do-i-migrate-from-one-adapter-to-another

Unclear to me is:

  • What is going to happen to my HA entities after re-pairing the devices?
  • Will I lose all my friendly names and therefore be left with unusable entities and broken automations?

Thank you in advance!

Just in case someone else will stumble over the same question:

I followed the instructions on zigbee2mqtt (link above) and after rejoining all Zigbee devices they reclaimed their friendly name. Some things didn’t work immediately but after restarting Homeassistant everything was working as it was before.

So for the conbee2 to sonoff-P you need to delete the data base, so no ieee change?

And at rejoin everything gets picked with their old name friendly name?

I know im saying things double but strangely, a conbee to sonoff move is not wel documented by others and i have no clue what to do since the conbee is under “other”

Sorry for my late reply.
Yes, it is exactly that. You can follow the instructions on zigbee2mqtt.io exactly and everything works just fine.

No problem at all!

Just wanted to know what to expect, thanks for the reply.

Hi
Understand this is an old post. Just to clarify, did you have re-pair all devices? Acoording to the website, if moving from cobee to sonoff you have to re-pair all devices. I am looking to change from conbee to sonoff due to some reliability issues

Which problem with the conbee do you have?

I have more than one week problem with conbee too, in the log I see no response received.

Some devices stop responding randomly. I am not entirely sure if its the Conbee stick or the device itself.

weird the link has a big warning saying conbee is not supported:

Migration from one adapter to another requires backup and restore support which is so far only implemented for the Zstack adapter (Texas Instruments adapters). Backup and restore is not supported for any other adapters (ConBee/Raspbee, EZSP and Zigate).

Meaning, since backup/restore is not supported, you have to repair your devices

OMG thanks!!
