First, let me say I love the look of the updated automations editor. However, it is lacking some features that were in the older version.
- the initial part of triggers, conditions and actions seems to be impossible to edit now. For example if you have an Action “Call Service”, you can alter the service and the related entities, but Call Service cannot be changed.
- it appears that it is no longer possible to reorder things. In the past you could add a new Action and then click on the Up Arrow to move it earlier in the sequence.
Combining these too things makes it even more frustrating - if you want to change an action type for example, you have to delete it and recreate it. However when it is recreated it gets added at the bottom, and then there is no way to move it up, so then you have to delete everything after the thing that was changed and re add them.
IMO what would be ideal is, rather than having move up / move down arrows, add Copy / Cut / Paste for sections. This has to be possible, because there is already an existing (in my experience not very useful) “Duplicate” option, With the new options, things like - add an “AND” condition, Cut section A, paste into AND, Cut section B, paste into AND, become possible. Duplicate could be removed, because Copy / Paste would do exactly the same thing but better.
