I have 7 temp or door sensors in my house from Xiaomi and a raspbee premium on my RPi3+ running Deconz on HA.
Just noticed 3 of the temp sensors have gone unavailable. Looking on the VNC viewer for them I can see all three are not showing as connected to the raspbee but other sensors further away from the raspbee are.
I do not have a big house (4 bedroom) and one of the disconnected sensors is ground floor, 2 stories below my Pi which is in the attic.
Are these sensors just no use for a house without lots of powered devices to keep the signal?
Should I just forget this method of temperature sensing?
Is there a way to reconnect a dropped device without having to delete it, then add it as a new sensor and change all my references to it?
Can I reconnect a sensor in VNC somehow?
Thanks!
I have Xiaomi temp and window sensors that occasionally disconnect. I’m pretty sure pressing the button on the side of the temp sensor caused them to reconnect, whereas the window sensors reconnect when opened/closed. I also have powered Zigbee lights in part of the house, which are near my Xiaomi door sensors, so they have never disconnected. You could try the Zigbee repeater from Ikea if you don’t want to set up Zigbee lights.
Thanks. Got all of them working again yesterday and today three of them are unreachable. One of the unreachable ones is the closest to the raspbee premium so these devices are of no use it would appear. Really disappointed
Do you have walls or other obstructions in the way? Or could something else be causing interference (for example, the monitor
bluetooth presence detection). I live in an old solid brick two storey house, so it’s not surprising I sometimes have problems, but adding mains powered devices seems to always work. I’m using a Conbee II - the same company as Raspbee Premium. A common problem with the Conbee is interference from the connected device, and you generally need a USB extension cable to overcome it. Maybe this is your problem with the Raspbee? You could try changing the Zigbee channel and see if that improves things.
I have two AP’s in the house but have changed channels on them and Zigbee to avoid interference. I think these Aqara things just arent great from reading more.
Does sound like the Ikea signal boosters work well with them so will give that a try alternatively its looking for another solution.
