Hello there. About 15 minutes ago I noticed that an automation that should have been competed a couple hours ago was still running - eg my hall fan was on for 6 whole hours when the timer is set too 2. I logged into hass and noticed that all my automations had been reset - like they all had been turned off and then back on. I checked the logbook and it simply shows all of my automations were turned off - it does not show any turned back on but if I go into the configuration tab all of them are on.
any ideas what happened here or how I can avoid this in the future? This can happen if you restart before home assistant has fully started (two quick restarts in a row).
This also happens if you reload the automations.
Any automation that was running at the time of reload will be cancelled.
Cancelling during a reload is understandable. But we’re talking about the automation being disabled.
He says when he checked them they were all on.

Dog dammit. I replied after reading:
Did you recently add any automations that turn anything off?
I’ve had something similar happen before when I setup an automation but forgot to assign the entity, so all switches would turn off at once.
