I am new here and would like to greet you on. I’m planning to set up this system at my home soon and have a question about IO-driven facade blinds. I’m wondering about the difference between the Somfy Connectivity Kit and TaHoma Switch.
Is it worth spending more money on the TaHoma Switch? What benefits and features does this system offer compared to the Somfy Connectivity Kit?
Also, I have read about the Local API and I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra cost if I only have Somfy blinds.
I’ve installed a garage door (smart IO) and want to connect it with Home Assistant. I’m still not totally sure between the differences, but as far as my knowledge goes:
Connectivity Kit doesn’t support to talk to other Zitbeen protocol devices as it’s only IO / RTS protocol
Connectivity Kit can’t do auto scenes by itself. It needs a command giving device to do something.
Connectivity Kit doesn’t support the local API which is a shame as you don’t want to depend to much of outdoor API’s.
Connectivity Kit is limited to 20 devices.
Naming all this can’t and doesn’t pretty sums up my thoughts as I’m going for a Tahoma Switch
