i’ve searched the internet for a bit and couldn’t find a direct answer to my question. I’m planning to make my (external) venetian blinds smart. The “engine” is called J406 io Protect by somfy.
I’ve found out that there are several ways to go a “local” route. Buying the tahoma switch or the velux klf 200 hub in combination with Overkiz (or even homekit?) should work in that regard.
However what I couldn’t find out is whether I would be able to control the “tilt” function. My somfy remote has a little wheel on it that can control tilt of the venetian blinds.
It would be a real bummer to buy a switch/hub to find out that I can only control the blinds going up and down…
No guarantees, but most devices actually do support controlling tilt via the Somfy app. Do you have the possibility to purchase the TaHoma Switch, and return it when it is not functional?
If the tilt can be controlled via the Somfy app, you should be able to control them from Home Assistant a well. Overkiz supports tilt for most cover entities, and otherwise support can be added in the future.
Thank you! Maybe I will order the TaHoma Switch and just hope tilt is going to work…if anybody has experience with somfy io and tilt (maybe even my specific device) please don’t hestitate to chime in.
