I had issues with my eco 8.2 for several months. I also have a "Frankenstein" setup, in combination with a Sonnen 10 and Sonnen has been unresponsive, even following the letters of my lawyer.
What I can say is that with software v. 1.31.10, firmware v. 1.31.10.4176380, the problem with charge/discharge API commands seem to have been solved (not sure how much it was related to the software itself or the interaction with Sonnen 10 - which is was the result of my investigation). BTW I managed to disable automatic updates with my installer.
