question. I have ordered 2 x new sonoff 4 pro3’s. Whilst waiting I found an older pro2 that I used to use (tasmotized) approximately 3 years ago.
I decided to give esphome a crack. I have actually shied away from it mainly because my HA is on a VM and was to lazy to go through the usb passthrough etc but it was simple as and Im actually starting to see a lot of merrit in esphome that I was unaware of.
My question is though, my old sonoff now incorporating esphome appears to be working fine with one exception. Buttons work both manually and in HA. Blue LED is working etc. However I am seeing zero voltage coming out the connectors. Tried measuring this with an LED strip and a multimeter.
I changed from a 5v DC power pack to a 12 volt pack measured 12v at the sonoff power in.
Not sure if I have screwed up the code or if the sonoff is actually stuffed.
I checked the jumpers and they are S6: 1 K5: all 1 K6: all 0
not an electrician here so forgive my lack of knowledge.
I would have thought that when I click on a switch (1, 2, 3 or 4, either manually or via HA), that some voltage would be sent to the relay outputs (to turn light on, or irrigation solonoids).
But connecting an LED or a multimeter see no output.
Thats where I have an issue. is it my esphome script or a broken piece of hardware ???
SONOFF 4 PRO doesn’t output any voltage when you trigger relay.
It only connects COM port to NO port, like manual light switch does.
The load you switch with that relay can be 5VDC or 240VAC or anything you need to control.
I havent done this for some time and I believe I have screwed up bigtime.
I was thinking the power supply to fire the LED/irrigation solonoide/etc was coming from the Sonoff. After looking further I forgot that the power to the device comes from its OWN power supply and running through the Sonoff (as a switch).
