Sonoff locked down?

Maybe I have been under a rock or something but I just noticed my Sonoff devices being offline.
Checked the logs and it said I’m logged in in multiple places or something.
So I thought I could log in on the sonoff web to see what is going on.

I can’t use anything.
I get this message:

Most Sonoff devices can be flashed easily to Tasmota or Esphome

Looking in the profile section of the eWeLink Android App I can see this:

Seems like web access is part of the Advanced Plan - I’m not seeing anything similar required for the app itself and have to admit that I never tried accessing devices via the web.

But can you control all your devices from HA?
I have a few that I can’t.
So I guess I will have to flash those devices now.

Yup, I can control every Sonoff device I have from HA through the Sonoff integration.
Wouldn’t use them at all otherwise.
I flashed several with ESPHome, but for some I haven’t found instructions yet or haven’t gotten around to converting them.

Best solution is to flash them, all my devices are flashed with ESPHome, never have to worry again about apps and external (unreliable) connections.
This way you have full local control of your devices and they work 100% with HA.

I know I can flash them.
It’s just that it wasn’t needed at the time, several years ago.
But I’ll guess I have to do what I should have done back them.

It’s a shame another company thinks this is the solution for their financial situation.
In the end it will just be another company that goes belly up because their customers abandon them.
