I’ve a Home Assistant green running things at my home with a Sonoff Zigbee Dongle attached.
I want to connect a Sonoff SNZB-03 motion sensor, but don’t know how.
I had thought that the dongle worked in place of a Sonoff Bridge, but can’t see how to add the detector other than through the eWe app, which wants me to go via a bridge.
Any help at all on what I need to do would be appreciated.
Look in your Settings / Devices & Services / Integrations. Typically when installing the Sonoff dongle you’re doing so for Zigbee (you’d recognize if you used MQTT instead). You should have a Zigbee integration shown in Integrations, which you use to add Zigbee devices.
Thanks, I found and added it, and the motion sensor now works.
Weirdly though one of the switches that I wanted to trigger, despite being in eWe, doesn’t appear in Home Assistant. The other one does, so some more work needed, but thanks very much for getting me ythis far.
I’ve somehow managed to mess up, with the motion sensor appearing in Home Assistant, but not in the eWe link app. Home assistant won’t let me use the switch in any automation, as it says it doesn’t have a unique ID.
Thanks very much again, and apologies for what I think are perhaps things which ought to be obvious to me, but aren’t, I apreicate your patience.
How do I use a state trigger, not a device one?
I can see the device (named “Fan 1”) in the ewelink page when I log in to Home Assistant, and clicking on it turns it on and off.
When I now go to settings / automotion and scenes / to try to create an automation or a scene then Fan 1 is not available as a device to control. In fact none of the deivces on eWeLink are available to control.
