Sonoff R20 local control

Hello friends
I got my hand on some old sonoff R20 wifi smart plugs
Is there a way to connect it locally to HA without flashing them?
I don’t want to open them for flashing them to tasmota i know this way exists

If I add them to ewelink app can they be controlled locally afterwards via their IP with the sonoff ewelink integration?

I searched the old posts but couldn’t get a clear answer

Im in the same situation, just bought a couple of s26 and dont know if sonofflan or the ewelink thing is the better option.
Though Im using docker for my HA installation
