I’m trying to determine if I can add energy monitoring to my Sonoff S31 Lite smart plugs. I know they have no energy monitoring by default. Does Tasmota add that? Or is Tasmota more for localizing cloud-bound hardware but not adding features?
Everything said here being true, you might consider looking at Powercalc. I use Powercalc prolifically on items where I don’t have an actual reading from the device but know the wattage in use when it’s on - and it also has a large database of well known devices that you can also utilize that would allow you to compensate for dim levels and such.
I use Powercalc even on things that report power, so I can group power groups and rooms together for my energy dashboard.
