You can use Sonoff with IFTTT and the ewelink app or do what most everyone does and flash Tasmota firmware and use directly in HA via MQTT. There’s most likely 100+ threads on sonoff here doing that.
You can’t use Sonoff switches with HA straight out of the box as far as I know.
To use them directly in HA you will need to flash them with a different firmware. There are at least a couple of different options for that. And you if you go that route you will also need to run an MQTT broker somewhere.
Yes, I have several all flashed with Tasmota.
They work very well.
Check out the github page for Tasmota for more info - https://github.com/arendst/Sonoff-Tasmota/wiki/Prerequisite
You can use them out-of-the-box with the ewelink app and IFTTT. I did this before I flashed Tasmota. It can be done quite easily.
Yeah, poor wording on my part.
That’s why I said “directly in HA” in the follow on sentence.
Thanks for the clarification.
If you search you’ll find one guy has managed to do it without flashing BUT you lose the connection to the app.
Just flash them, you’ll be glad you did.
