Sonoff ZBMINI - Strange behaviour

Based on A Raspberry Pi with a Conbee II .

Initially I set up several devices (Door switch, thermometer…) and these workd fine and still work

Then I added 3 Sonoff in wall ZBMINI switches.

They pair OK, they work correctly from the wall switch.

In Home Assistant they show up, but if you click one in HA to turn on or off, the light turns on or off, then the switch in HA returns to the original position and the Light icon does not turn Yellow (or blue).

IF you then click the switch icon in HA twice (when the light is on) to turn on then turn off, the light turns off.(sometimes)

If you turn on the light with the wall switch, sometimes you can turn it off with the HA

It is as if the ZBMINI is not sharing its state with HA if it is switched through Zigbee, but it will if it is switched manually from the connected wall switch.

Does anyone have any thoughts about what is happening ?

Thanks

A conbee II can be used with ZHA, Deconz or Zigbee2MQTT. Maybe tell first what integration you are using ?

Could be that they have poor reception in the wall.

Thanks Francis. I wasnt aware that I could use different versions of ZigBee, and havent easily been able to find which I have, I took the defaults and it worked.

However signal strength seems to be the answer if I insert another ZigBee repeater between the ConbeeII, and the closest switch the problem went away. And removing that extra device brings the problem back.

What fooled me initialy was that I was getting easily 10 meters through timber and plasterboard with simple battery powered sensors but with in wall powered switches im getting more like 5 meters.

Thanks for your help
