My living room ceiling light is connected to multiple push switches all around the room via a relay that’s supposedly in the attic. From what I’ve heard it’s a pretty standard implementation when you need to have more than 2 switches for one light
I would like to make this light smart using a Sonoff ZBMINIL2, however:
If I install the sonoff behind one of the push switches, it makes all the other switches unusable
if I install the sonoff between the relay switch and the light, it doesn’t seem to work at all
Have any of you done this before? Any insight appreciated
Electrical wiring standards and equipment are often very regional. It may help you get an accurate (and safe) answer if you provide more details like which country you are in, a diagram of the current wiring, the make and model of the relay, information about the wall switches.
Unfortunately all I can say is that I live in France, I don’t have a diagram nor access to the relay to check the brand. I reckon it might be some pretty old equipment given that the rest of the electrical stuff is pretty old, the house was built 25 years ago. The push switches are Legrand Neptune if that can help
