Sonoff ZBMINIL2 behavior

Hi everyone,

I just started with Home Assistant. I installed Zigbee2MQTT and tried to get the Sonoff ZBMINIL2 working.

I have a hallway with 3 switches that control a light. When I press any of the buttons, the light turns on or off. I wired the ZBMINIL2 according to the following image:

Now, when I press the physical button, I can see in HA that the entity is turned on and immediately off, and the light turns on. If I press the button again, the entity switches on/off again, and the light turns off. I also hear 2 clicks when I press the button once and again 2 times if pressed again.

In HA, if I press the entity once, the light turns on, but then I can’t use the physical buttons anymore. If I click a second time to turn the entity off, the light stays on, and I can use the other switches again. (So I have to turn it on/off like the physical button to switch it on, and again on/off to turn it off)

Is this intentional behavior, or do I need to configure it somewhere? Or is the wiring incorrect?

Thanks for your help

Audible clicking from the relay, especially multiple clicks, can often mean you have your load and line wires backwards. Wiring a 3-way light requires something far more specific than a photo to go off of, as you now also have a traveller to consider.

Here’s what I found for 3-way wiring that device:
