Sonos and other problems

Hi there.
Sorry about my stupid questions, but I´m all new to this. Not to skilled on programming.

I managed to set up Home Assistant on my laptop, but there is a lot of issues. I start with this.

Problem 1:

My Sonos does not show at all, and I can´t add them either. There not even showing at Defender.

Problem 2:

I have a SMA solarsystem that i would like to add. I tried several times, but i getting stuck when i should enter my device information. I guess the host is the IP-adress i could find in my router settings, but i have no idea what password i should use?

I watched tutorials on Youtube, but the problem is that it seems like Home Assistant has changed in the menu. The HassIo and Supervisor is not avalible on my screen.

Please reply as you are writing to an idiot (not to far from truth obviously) :slightly_smiling_face:
Thanks

Cant help with Sonos as I don’t have one but for the SMA Inverter,

Yes the host is the IP address. Make sure to reserve this address in DHCP in your router so that it does not change.

Make sure to untick the “Verify SSL certificate” check-box.

The default password (group: user) is 0000, if that does not work you will have to contact your installer for the user password, if they have not given it to you. Check the documents they gave you. It may be written on it.

Thanks and thans again tom_I.

I guess it vas the Verify SSL certificate that messed up my configuration.
The password was 0000.

One problem solved. :slightly_smiling_face:

What is Defender?

Sorry. I meant Windows Defender. (allowed apps)
I read that it could be an issue if the Sonos was not cleared by the firewall. Mine is not showing at all.

Is your Home Assistant installed on a computer equipped with Windows?

Tell us more about how you installed Home Assistant.

Yes, it´s running on Windows 10 and I use Viritual Box. The dedicaded computer is a few years old, but it seems to work fine.
I followed the instructions from Home Assistant hompage and installed VM and choosed Linux 64. It was a lot of issues before it came alive and it found my Nanoleaf and Mesh, but nothing else. I managed to install Philips Hue and now I can se all lamps. My Sonos is running on mesh, but they are connected to the same router.

Make sure the virtual machine you created allows access to port 1400 because that’s used by the Sonos integration.

The machine is not the same as Windows 10? I have opened it on Windows, but iI still get the same error. Sonos is not found.
Sorry for my dumb questions, but I´m all new at this.
How do I open the port in VM?

So I tried to open a port.
In my viritual machine I could only set a port in network NAT., so I changed from Bridged adapter.
That didn´t work out and I locked myself out.
It took five hours to get back in.
Still not sure where to set a port?

Never mind. When i rebooted with a new IP-adress Sonos came up and could be installed.

Another question tho:

I have 2 solar systems. Is it possible to add 2 integrations?
I managed to set up the first one, but no luck on the other. I hav found the IP, but i get an error with password 0000.

Not sure, I only have the one Inverter.

I see.
Guess I have to learn more about that.
Thanks anyway.

Have you tried to add two? Give it a go, and let us know so anyone else wondering will know!
