Sony Blu-ray setup (BDP-S3700)

I am setting up my Sony Blu-Ray w/ Home assistant. I have configured my configuration.yaml file & HA is asking for a pin to pair… however, my blu-ray player never provides me with a pin to pair with… any ideas? Thanks!

I see this error in my logs:

Did you make any further progress on this? I have a UBP-X1000ES. It similarly does not seem to pair up with a PIN.

Hi @dickschoeller
Unfortunately, I did not solve this… my take away was that this works with Sony TVs but not Blu-ray

Thanks. I’ve been working to get media_player.sony working. Not quite there, but making progress.

Hey, thanks @dickschoeller - this worked for me (https://github.com/alexmohr/media_player.sony)

Can you describe a bit more? I’ve installed media_player.sony and I have some controls but only play/stop, next/previous and volume control. Is it possible to fully control the device from home assistant with this addon?

I just nfound out on my BR player that there’s an “app” on the player called “activate enhanced features” that provide the PIN code
