Would like to set up an automation that notifies my cell phone with a sound (just like SMS messages do when you get a new message) when a person is detected on the grassy area in front of my home (occasionally let their dog poop without picking it up). I would use a different sound on my phone ( not the default one for messages). I do use frigate (could use the cameras motion/person entity and also have Aqara motion sensor that I could use for this detection. I’m stuck at trying to figure out how to just use my phone’s notification sounds for this alert ( I don’t need snapshots or clips, since frigate already does that). This alert would let me get notified while the person and their dog are on the grass.
Also:
I use a Pixel Android phone. I have my Aqara P1 motion sensor turn my porch light on if there’s movement and turn off if no movement, but only at night. Would like to just add sound notification, this way I could remove the nighttime hour constraint (condition) and have the automation notify me anytime of the day with a simple “ding” when there is someone at the front of my house. I don’t see it as an option to add it to the automation, I can’t figure out and or see it if it can be added to the automation during any of the choices when creating the automation. I created the automation without it and without notifications but would like to add it preferably with sound. Thank you for your time in reading my post and for your suggestions. Will try to alter the automation when I have some more time to futz with it since it is not too straightforward or clear when creating it and selecting choices to make it work.
